Meet the Pict authors

Put faces to names and learn a little about what makes them tick.

Leanne Marshall (L.T. Marshall) is a Scottish born and bred romance writer with more than the average persons life experience. She has been a torrent of wild things, including singer in a girl band, animal rights activist and charity owner, worked in radio and offered jobs in TV.

A passionate, restless soul, who has always found peace in writing, the only way to calm that fiery spirit. She uses her wit and dark humour to her advantage in her works and has been an avid reader for most of her life. Her influences vary, but from early life and a teen stint in journalism, she applies logic to most of her plot lines, is a self confessed research fiend, and likes a lot of psychology behind her characters actions.

She currently resides in Central Scotland with her two children and Fiancee of 13 years, making waves in the book world with her signature 'WTF moments' she likes to apply in each story, hints of humour and devastating emotional rollercoaster rides.

"Writing has always been an escape for me, loving that no matter what you are doing, where you are - you can create ideal fantasy and get lost in someone else's life. I love nothing more than drawing a reader with me on a journey that tortures your every emotion before the grand exhale," says Leanne.

Sarah Marie Graye was born in Manchester, United Kingdom, in 1975, to English Catholic parents. One of five daughters, to the outside world Sarah Marie’s childhood followed a relatively typical Manchester upbringing... until aged nine, when she was diagnosed with depression.

It’s a diagnosis that has stayed with Sarah Marie over three decades, and something she believes has coloured every life decision, including the one to write a novel.

Sarah Marie wrote The Second Cup as part of an MA Creative Writing practice as research degree at London South Bank University – where she was the vice-chancellor’s scholarship holder. It was first published in July 2017.

Sarah Marie was diagnosed with late-onset ADHD in November 2017 (linked to a post-operative brain injury she sustained in 2008). She published an extended edition of The Second Cup in February 2018 so she could diagnose one of her characters with the same condition. She has since completed her second novel, The Victoria Lie, which explored adult ADHD as one of its themes.

Jennifer Gilmour was born in the North East and is a young, married mum with three children. She is an entrepreneur, running a family business from her home-base and has a large readership of other young mums in business for her blog posts.

From an early age, Jennifer has had a passion for writing and has been gathering ideas and plot lines from her teenage years. A passionate advocate for women in abusive relationships, she has amalgamated and fictionalised other survivors experiences alongside her own to write her first novel.

Isolation Junction details the journey of a young woman from the despair of an emotionally abusive and unhappy marriage to develop the confidence to challenge and change her life and to love again.

Jennifer hopes Isolation Junction will raise awareness of this often hidden and unseen behaviour and empower women in abusive relationships to seek help for themselves and find the confidence to change their lives.

June Moonbridge  was born in June and she always loved the moon. She comes from Slovenia, a country in the middle of Europe.

She studied economics and after the study, she found herself working in mainly male-dominated businesses; currently she works as a Senior Buyer for a company that produces large slewing bearings.

June started to write in high school and had published short and long stories (in sequels) in magazines, and three novels in Slovene under the pen name Eri Krt.

After having two children, and learning that her second child has autism, she married their father. It turned her life upside down, but the desire to write didn't die.

Then life somehow sorted itself out and she decided to write a novel in English which was accepted by Safkhet Publishing. She re-published her debut novel under its original title All That the Heart Desires in June 2016.

Her second novel, Caught Between Two Worlds, was published in February 2017. And her third novel, At The End of the Summer, was published in May 2018.

Victoria Johns is a writer of romantic suspense, contemporary and new adult novels. She enjoys sharing a happily ever after and believes that it's every good girl's dream to experience a steamy one.

Growing up in North West England in a large family surrounded by love and support she found her Prince Charming many years ago and enjoys living the life they've made with their son.

She's always had a creative imagination and decided that some of the stories bubbling in her head needed to be shared, so she's created this pen name to give them their freedom to be loved by others. When she's not writing she's overdosing on crisps, Rosé wine and trashy TV.

Em Taylor, a USA Today bestselling author, writes Regency Romance and has dabbled in the contemporary and paranormal sub-genres of romance too. But she can't resist the lure of the ballrooms of Mayfair and the country houses of the aristocracy in the early 19th Century for long.

Born and raised in the central belt of Scotland, Em has tried her hand at nursing, retail and teaching Religious Education. It wasn't until she found she enjoyed writing Star Trek Voyager fan fiction that she decided to try writing her own characters. She still indulges her love of film and TV by crewing at conventions around the UK.
